The first Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 teaser has just been released online after making its debut at CCXP 2022 in Brazil, and fans are ecstatic. However, this will be James Gunn’s pet project’s final journey. and Bradley Cooper’s Rocket Raccoon is ready to take a bold step into the spotlight.

Fans are already in a frenzy over the appearance of a young Rocket, who is probably being tortured in this trailer under the watchful eye of the High Evolutionary. A genetically modified otter named Lylla, who briefly embraces the raccoon in the trailer, is the longstanding MCU hero’s girlfriend from the comics.

Fans are now certain that this intriguing new character will even be played by someone who has a long experience working with Cooper on the big screen.

The Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 trailer gave viewers their first glimpse of Lylla in the MCU, but the rumor about the actress who will play Rocket Raccoon’s love interest is even bigger.

After working together on A Star is Born, Lady Gaga and Bradley Cooper would reunite in Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3, according to a tweet from Film Updates in June 2019 announcing that she was under consideration for a role. Later, that tweet was removed.

A few days later, Hollywood Life reported that Gaga and Cooper would collaborate on the film, but they made no mention of Gaga’s role as Lylla. James Gunn typically responds quickly to refute rumors like this one if they’re untrue, but he hasn’t publicly addressed the Gaga rumor to confirm or refute it.

When Will the Lylla Casting Be Made Public?

Lylla’s inclusion in Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 is undoubtedly a significant advancement, especially in light of how pivotal Rocket is to the overall plot. Fans undoubtedly have high hopes that Lady Gaga will voice the new rodent heroine because the character is silent in the film’s first trailer.

Being a voiceover part, Gaga would almost certainly have enough time to finish the required work for it, especially since her work on the Joker sequel isn’t scheduled to start until some time in 2023.

The promotional tour for this film has just begun, so Gunn and/or Marvel still have almost six months to publicly confirm or deny Lady Gaga’s involvement with the Marvel Cinematic Universe. However, given that rumors are still rife among the fanbase, Gunn’s silence on the subject is telling for the time being.

On May 5, 2023, Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 will make its cinematic debut.
