At USA Network and Syfy, Chucky season 3 has been renewed. After being picked up by 14-year-old Jake Wheeler (Zackary Arthur) at a neighborhood yard sale, the evil doll and his chain of murders in Hackensack, New Jersey, are followed in the horror series, which was created by Don Mancini as a follow-up to 2017’s Cult of Chucky. Critics and devoted followers of the Child’s Play series have largely praised the show since its 2021 debut, praising its originality and the return of Brad Dourif in his role as Chucky/Charles Lee Ray. Chucky has demonstrated that its title character is just as popular as ever following a noteworthy debut and impressive reviews over the course of its first two seasons.

The future of the show has been a topic of speculation for fans ever since the Chucky season 2 finale aired back in November.

According to Collider, Syfy and USA Network announced the news of the horror show’s official renewal for a third season during the Television Critics Association’s 2023 Winter Press Tour. Mancini thanked the audience for their support in a statement and hinted that this would be Chucky’s scariest season yet. Read Mancini’s comments about the Chucky renewal below:

“The cast and crew of ‘Chucky’ would like to thank fans and critics alike for their overwhelming response to season two, which we’re delighted to announce has now spurred the official greenlight on season three. This news has made Chucky very happy. Thank Damballa for that because otherwise Chucky would have been frankly impossible to deal with. Many thanks also to our partners at SYFY, USA and UCP for helping us keep Chucky busy. See you in 2023 for what Chucky himself promises will be his scariest season ever.”

What Can We Anticipate From Chucky Season 3?

Syfy/USA Network

When Lexy (Alyvia Alyn Lind) used a chainsaw on the killer doll after her mother’s passing, viewers of Chucky last saw what seemed to be the end of the killer doll. When she, Jake, & Devon (Björgvin Arnarson) turned to look at Tiffany (Jennifer Tilly), Caroline intervened and warned them they would later regret what they had done. They decide to inform Miss Fairchild (Annie M. Briggs) about Chucky, and the audience is left hanging about Tiffany’s fate in the final moments of “Chucky Actually.” She tries to take the Belle doll after Nica (Fiona Dourif) threatens her, but it turns out to be Chucky, who is actually alive.

The release of Chucky season 3 has not yet been announced, but viewers can anticipate its return in the autumn. As for the cast, Briggs, who might play a bigger role later on, should join Dourif, Arthur, Arnarson, and Lind in returning for the new episodes. It is safe to assume Tilly’s character is still alive and will appear in Chucky season 3, particularly given her phone call with Nica, even though Chucky approached Tiffany with a knife. Although it is likely that the evil doll will continue to target children, it is worth wondering if Glen and Glenda will make another appearance after he stated they needed to be punished.

It will be interesting to see if Glen and Glenda appear in Chucky season 3 given that they both own the same doll and Tiffany claims they are deceased. Following her corruption by Chucky and apparent satisfaction with his revelation at the conclusion of the season 2 finale, Caroline may also play a significant role in upcoming episodes. Fans of the series, who typically enjoy its humor and all the bloody deaths, can expect more thrilling moments as the show continues to develop the Child’s Play universe. Chucky season 3 should be equally entertaining if the previous season, which received the highest Rotten Tomatoes rating for the franchise, is any indication.
