Grey Worm’s possible return in the forthcoming Jon Snow sequel series is discussed by the Game of Thrones actor who plays him. This summer, HBO announced a live-action Jon Snow spinoff project, with Kit Harington reprising the title role. It is the first Game of Thrones sequel in the works, joining a slew of live-action and animated prequels such as 10,000 Ships (aka Nymeria), 9 Voyages (aka The Sea Snake), Dunk and Egg, and Also the Golden Empire.

Grey Worm actor Jacob Anderson reveals whether or not viewers should expect to see him on the Jon Snow-centered show nearly five months after the official statement of a Game of Thrones sequel. Anderson does not give a definitive yes or no answer to E! News, but he does say he would be amazed to see Grey Worm come back. The actor defends his remarks by stating Grey Worm’s contempt for Jon Snow and the only reason he would show up is to kill him. See the full quote below:

“I think it would be pretty tense if he did [appear in the new spinoff with Jon Snow]. I think the only way Grey Worm would show up in that show is to kill Jon Snow. I don’t think Grey Worm would want to see him again. I think that was quite a significant condition of [Jon] living, was like, ‘I don’t ever want to see your face again. I’m going to go my way, and you’re going to go your way, and that’s that.’ I’d be very surprised if we saw Grey Worm again.”

What Would A Grey Worm & Jon Snow Reunion Look Like?

While Anderson’s response is ambiguous, the reasoning behind Grey Worm’s unlikely reappearance in the untitled Jon Snow spinoff series is sound. At the end of Game of Thrones, the two characters split up: Grey Worm and his Unsullied clan sail off the Isle of Naath, & Jon Snow presumably will become the Wildling ruler north of the Wall. Grey Worm harbors a deep hatred for Jon because of his assassination of Daenerys Targaryen until their final moments together. However, due to King Bran Stark’s proposal, that exiles Jon to the Night’s Watch, the Unsullied leader still allows him to go. If Grey Worm decides to flee Naath and seek vengeance on Jon in the Game of Thrones sequel, he will be violating the terms of his agreement with Bran and Missandei’s promise to protect her people. If Grey Worm appeared, he would almost definitely go for Jon’s head.

Who Else Could Appear In A Jon Snow Spinoff?

Although Anderson believes a Grey Worm presence in the Jon Snow sequel series is unlikely, other Game of Thrones characters could return. Unlike Grey Worm, these characters are likely to be close to Jon and may include the pivotal Stark siblings Sansa, Arya, and King Bran. Tyrion Lannister and Grand Maester Samwell Tarley, Jon’s best buddy in the original HBO series, are also possible inclusions.

For the time being, any character comebacks are purely speculative because they are dependent on the plot of the show. Unfortunately, HBO has yet to reveal any crucial plot details about the Jon Snow spinoff, therefore if it strictly concerns Jon’s journey in the territory beyond the Wall, there is a good chance that none of these characters will appear. Fans of Game of Thrones will have to wait and see whether Grey Worm or any other favorite characters make a return in the Jon Snow series.
